New Coverage for Peer Recovery Support Services
Effective April 1, 2026, ForwardHealth covers peer recovery support (PRS) services, which are non-clinical services that complement behavioral health treatment services and promote recovery.
ForwardHealth reimburses two types of agencies providing PRS services:
An overdose treatment provider agency must enroll as a new provider with Wisconsin Medicaid. Existing provider agencies must submit an attestation in the demographic maintenance tool on the ForwardHealth Portal (the Portal) before submitting claims for PRS services.
